Life as a Sure Star - A blog by some of our volunteers

Welcome to the Sure Stars' blog!

Over the next few months we will bring you the stories and experiences of some of our current and past volunteers; follow them as they pick up new skills and try their hand at many new things. Maybe you'll get a taste for it yourself!

Starting us off is Sara. Sara became a Sure Star in 2007 and hasn't looked back:

" The volunteers programme run by Sure Start gave me the chance to gain expierience, confidence and skills as well as enableing me to access training required to gain long term employment. I am now have a career in Capacity Building and Community Work and am going to University as well as bringing up my children. I would never of achieved this without the help and support of surestart and it's staff!"

We will use this space to keep you up to date with what being a Sure Star volunteer means and what we actually get up to!
