Community Development

Sure Start Darlaston works actively with the local community and aims to help local people make Darlaston and Moxley a lively, safe and enjoyable place to live.

Our Community Development team offers several services to boost Darlaston's environment and the opportunities available to local people. We offer:

• Training courses, accredited by NOCN, College of Continuing Education and many other bodies
• Fun courses such as sign language, yoga and flower arranging
• Volunteering opportunities which includes the opportunity to learn new skills and build confidence. Our current opportunities include:, reception work, kitchen work, handyman work, involvement in events, community project work, evaluation work
• Community-based activities such as our 'Green Group' where you can explore the great outdoors with your children

Many parents who have attended some of the services above have gone on to do charity fundraising, volunteering, further training or employment.
